
Oral Health Care of the Older Adult
Activity Description
According to the American Dental Association (ADA), the population of adults age 65+ will approximately double by 2030 compared to 2000 and are a growing demographic for dental practices. Oral health is an important component of general health and wellbeing. This course focuses on the oral health care of the older adult, including the importance of prevention and treatment of common oral health conditions. In this course, the role of the healthcare team to support optimal oral health care of the older adult will be reviewed, including patient risk factors, barriers, inequities, and solutions to optimize oral health and quality of life.

In accordance with the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education's (ACCME) Standards for Integrity and Independence in Accredited Continuing Education, Centene Institute for Advanced Health Education (Centene Institute) requires all those in control of educational content to disclose their financial relationships with ineligible companies within the prior 24 months.
