Test-Rachael-NV Screening Brief Intervention and Referral to Treatment (SBIRT): An Implementation Guide for Health Care Providers On-Demand
This is an on-demand, five-module training series that can be taken at any time. Attendees may complete the entire series or mandatory modules and the select specific modules based on the age population serve.
The mandatory modules are:
Module 1: Introduction
Module 4: Behavioral Health Screens and Brief Interventions
Module 5: Referral to Treatment and Documentation
After completing the mandatory modules, you will have the option to receive a certificate of completion.
Description
Attendees will gain clinical knowledge and skills to implement the use of SBIRT in their practice. This training advances and enhances the education of the audience by focusing on screening and referral to treatment for alcohol and substance use in patients in a health care setting. It discusses skills for implementing a brief intervention with clients after the screening is complete. Lastly, this training reviews documentation guidelines for documenting the SBIRT process.

Target Audience
Licensed and unlicensed Behavioral Health, Physical Health, and Addiction Healthcare professionals. Topic level is beginner to intermediate.

Define SBIRT and its 6 components
Identify 5 screening tools for adults
Identify 5 screening tools for adolescents
Demonstrate a brief intervention between a provider and a member
Discuss 2 referral to treatment options
List general guidelines for documenting SBIRT
