TEST- TONY-The Basics of Dementia

This is a live, instructor-led training scheduled for March 18, 2026 from 10AM- 11 PM Central.  The attendee must access the Zoom room no more than 15 minutes prior to the start of the training and connect audio via their device or call the conference number. Attendee must be in the room individually, be able to access audio, attend the entire training, complete a post test and evaluation in order to receive credit and access their certificate.

Description

The purpose of this training is to provide an overview of what dementia is, including types. Attendees will gain awareness about prevalence, early warning signs and will be able to describe cognitive, behavioral and psychological symptoms as well as interventions used to treat symptoms which include medication and non medication approaches.

Target Audience

This training is intended for LTSS/LTC (Long Term Supports and Services/ Long Term Care) providers  and other healthcare professionals including behavioral health professionals and anyone who works with older and vulnerable adults, including caregivers.

Learning Objectives

-Define dementia and identify three types of dementia
-List three warming signs of Alzheimer’s disease.
-Name three cognitive, behavioral, and psychological symptoms of dementia
-Name two interventions used to treat symptoms of dementia
