Attachment Among Children and Youth

This is an in person training for DFPS - CVS .

All learners must register for the training prior to the start of the training.

Professionals, caregivers, providers, and family members are introduced to the concept of attachment, its effects on a child’s emotional and physical development, the need for bonding with a caregiver, and the consequences of an insecure attachment.

Practice Level: Beginner and/or Intermediate.

Learning Objectives

  • Define attachment as it relates to the IDD relationship.
  • Understand the relationship between a caregiver and a child.
  • Understand how disruption in caregiving affects a child’s cognition.
