This introductory course for Providers offers an overview of person-centered thinking and its role in improving healthcare experiences and outcomes. Learners will explore core concepts, values, and practical approaches that support treating individuals as partners in their care, with attention to their goals, preferences, and lived experiences.

This course does not offer Person Centered Thinking certification.

Target Audience

This course is intended for healthcare providers outside of Centene.

Internal Centene employees: PCT training must be completed as assigned in Workday Learning. Courses offered in this LMS are not equivalent and will not be accepted toward annual PCT completion requirements.

Learning Objectives

  1. Explain the core concepts and values of Person-Centered Thinking and their role in supporting individuals in care management.
  2. Recognize the importance of balancing what is important to and for individuals to support safe, respectful, and meaningful outcomes.
  3. Apply person-centered approaches to promote positive control, build supportive relationships, and respond effectively to individual needs and preferences.
  4. Demonstrate how to incorporate person-centered thinking into daily interactions and care planning to provide consistent, strengths-based support.
