After The Storm - Addressing Natural Disasters Trauma

Attendees review how natural disasters impact children and families, including changes in classroom behavior. This course also reviews methods of providing help and support for those affected by these traumatic events.

Target Audience

Foster Care and Child Welfare professionals and stakeholders. Unlicensed and licensed behavioral health professionals including but not limited to, social workers, graduate-level counselors, therapists, and substance use professionals. Unlicensed and licensed health care professionals including, but not limited to, nurses.

Foster Parents, Kinship Caregivers, and Caregivers.

Practice Level: Beginner and/or Intermediate.

  • How Children react to trauma following natural disasters.
  • How Parents can help children cope with trauma impact.
  • How teachers can help children in class room following natural disasters.
