ForwardBehavioral and Social Health Milestones: Assessments and Treatment for Children Ages 0-5
This training is designed to help staff learn about pediatric milestones, symptoms and treatment, and
better understand behavioral health services for children ages 0-5 with social and emotional delays.
This is a critical time for our littlest members, and we want to ensure you have an improved
understanding and ability to support this special population. This training enhances and advances the
education of the audience by providing evidenced based resources and tools that will allow the
clinician to provide elevated education to members on developmentally appropriate milestones in
their children, identifying when further assessment and intervention may be needed, and help assist
members in getting connected to appropriate services and care when developmental milestones are
not being met appropriately. This presentation presents empirical evidenced based information to be
used as an educational tool. It is not intended to medically dx., give medical advice or prescribe

Target Audience
Unlicensed and licensed behavioral health professionals including, but not limited to, social workers, graduate-level counselors, therapists, and substance use professionals. Unlicensed and licensed health care professionals including, but not limited to, nurses.
Practice Level: Beginner and/or Intermediate.
Learning Objectives
Outline behavioral and social milestones for children ages 0 through 5 years old.
Discuss the assessment process and common diagnoses of children ages 0 through 5 years who may not be reaching these milestones.
Provide treatment options for children ages 0 through 5 years who may not be reaching developmentally appropriate milestones.
