
Clinical Excellence in Mental Health: Enhancing Care, Quality and Engagement Across Primary and Behavioral Health
Activity Description
This course equips healthcare professionals with the skills to identify and address behavioral health needs through validated screening tools and evidence-based interventions. Learners will develop strategies to coordinate comprehensive care, enhance patient adherence, and support mental health follow-up. Emphasis is placed on person-centered communication to reduce stigma, promote treatment engagement, and foster a supportive care environment. Participants will also learn to evaluate care quality using performance metrics and patient experience data to drive improvements in mental health outcomes.

- Assess behavioral health needs by utilizing validated screening tools to recognize mental health concerns and determine appropriate interventions
- Coordinate comprehensive care by applying strategies to enhance patient adherence, mental health follow-up, and continuity of care
- Implement person-centered communication strategies to effectively discuss mental health concerns, reduce stigma, and encourage treatment engagement
- Evaluate performance through quality measures and components of the outpatient mental health survey to improve health outcomes and patient experience
