Ethics for Mental Health Professionals
Learn how to use multiple codes of ethics for ethical decision-making, the ethical issues that may arise, and how to apply their knowledge with case scenarios. Participants will also reflect on their level of acculturation as an ethical professional.

Target Audience
Licensed behavioral health professionals including, but not limited to, social workers, graduate-level counselors, therapists, and substance use professionals. Licensed health care professionals including, but not limited to, nurses.
Practice Level: Beginner and/or Intermediate.

- Identify the five moral principles that form the cornerstone of codes of ethics in counseling disciplines.
- Determine the foundational moral principles for three specific ethical standards.
- Describe three ethical decision-making models.
- Evaluate ethical decision-making with one reflective practice activity (red flags, model evaluation, ethical autobiography).
- Recognize which strategy of professional ethical acculturation describes you best.
