Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome for New Hampshire Providers

This is a NEW HAMPSHIRE specific training.

This is a one hour, live webinar training which will be conducted by Dr. McNally. He will lecture on updates to NAS for 2023 including opioid use treatment during pregnancy, stigma and improvements in outcomes.

Target Audience

This training is for NEW HAMPSHIRE providers only.

Unlicensed and licensed behavioral health professionals including, but not limited to, social workers, graduate-level counselors, therapists, and substance use professionals. Unlicensed and licensed health care professionals including, but not limited to, nurses.

Practice Level: Beginner and/or Intermediate.

Learning Objectives

  • Discuss etiology of NAS/NOWS.
  • Understand risks for NAS and NOWS.
  • Review the physiologic effect of opioids and dependence.
  • Review signs and symptoms NAS and NOWS.
  • Discuss treatment for Opioid Use Disorder in pregnancy.
  • Discuss the effect stigma has on outcomes in treatment and our communities.
  • Recognize how medical providers in NH have improved care of mothers and babies who have substance exposure during pregnancy.
