Opioid Use Disorder Update on Diagnosis and Treatment for New Hampshire Providers

This is a NEW HAMPSHIRE specific training facilitated by Dr. Donald McNally, DO

Behavioral health providers will learn about the diagnosis and epidemiology of substance use disorder while reviewing evidence for medications and the X waiver. Attendees will become familiar with stigma and treatment options.

Target Audience

This training is for NEW HAMPSHIRE providers only.

Licensed behavioral health professionals including, but not limited to, social workers, graduate-level counselors, therapists, and substance use professionals. Licensed health care professionals including, but not limited to, nurses.

Practice Level: Beginner and/or Intermediate.

Learning Objectives

  • Overview of diagnosis, neurobiology, and epidemiology of addiction.
  • Review of pivotal milestones in addiction treatment, including review of the X waiver.
  • Explore the evidence for medications for opioid use disorder.
  • Explore settings in which initiating medications for addiction influences public health outcomes.
  • Discuss barriers to care and stigma.
  • Review helpful resources for those who want to learn more.
