Perinatal Mental Health Disorders: An Overview
This training advances or enhances the education of the audience by defining perinatal mental health disorders (PMHDs) and listing the different forms of PMHDs that new mothers can experience. Birth trauma and paternal postpartum depression are also discussed. Providers will obtain information on screening tools used in the postpartum period, as well as treatment and cultural considerations for PMHDs.

Target Audience
Unlicensed and licensed behavioral health professionals including, but not limited to, social workers, graduate-level counselors, therapists, and substance use professionals. Unlicensed and licensed health care professionals including, but not limited to, nurses.
Practice Level: Beginner and/or Intermediate.
