Successfully Working with Birth Families

Participants learn communication and child development skills needed to mentor birth parents and help promote family stability. Parent mentors are individuals who support other parents by providing information and resources.

Target Audience

Foster Care and Child Welfare professionals and stakeholders. Unlicensed and licensed behavioral health professionals including but not limited to, social workers, graduate-level counselors, therapists, and substance use professionals. Unlicensed and licensed health care professionals including, but not limited to, nurses.

Foster Parents, Kinship Caregivers, and Caregivers.

Practice Level: Beginner and/or Intermediate.
