ForwardTrauma-Informed Child Welfare 101: Essential Elements 1 and 2
This training will cover essential elements 1 and 2. The National Child Traumatic Stress Network defines a trauma informed child welfare system as one that continuously expands workforce knowledge and skills about trauma and its effects and one that addresses primary and secondary traumatic stress of the workforce.

Target Audience
Foster Care and Child Welfare professionals and stakeholders. Unlicensed and licensed behavioral health professionals including but not limited to, social workers, graduate-level counselors, therapists, and substance use professionals. Unlicensed and licensed health care professionals including, but not limited to, nurses.
Practice Level: Beginner and/or Intermediate.

- Differentiate systematic and trauma-exposed workplace stressors.
- Identify strategies to address primary and secondary trauma, including self-care+, coping skills, and peer/supervisory support.
